JBS brand Friboi and the Association of Nelore Breeders of Brazil (ACNB) have agreed to work together to grow the Nelore Natural Quality Program.

The processor and the trade body will partner to promote the breed and expand the supply and commercialization of high quality beef Nelore.

Under the agreement, the Nelore Natural Protocol for the management and production of carcasses will be extended to all 36 Friboi production units in ten states of the country, facilitating the access of the associated producers of the ACNB.

The partnership also allows for the promotion of festivals with selected cuts, in addition to opening space for the ACNB to participate in national and international events that traditionally count on the presence of Friboi, such as supermarket fairs, salons and exhibitions of the sector.

The Nelore Natural Program currently has 522 participating producers. In 2018, the group provided around 380,000 animals for the production of meat “with superior quality”, most of them in the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.

The president of Friboi, Renato Costa, explained the potential of the partnership. "Friboi and ACNB have great synergy,” he said. “We have productive units in all corners of Brazil, close to the farms of Nelore members. With this, the Nelore Natural program gains capillarity and a national dimension, which will contribute strongly to the valorization work of the breed, one of the main protagonists of the cattle raising, responsible for 80% of the Brazilian herd.

"Our experience with the partnership with producers and support in the management and promotion of the product has contributed strongly so that we can offer the consumer a beef of the highest quality in Brazil and in the world.”

President of the ACNB Nabih Amin El Aouar added: "Nelore beef is the meat of Brazil. We are delighted to close this partnership with Friboi, one of the largest cattle slaughtering and processing companies in the world, which will certainly enhance the Nelore Natural Program, which aims to value those who produce quality meat.

“In addition to promotion actions Nelore Quality Circuit, this partnership proposes to implement actions and provide tools so that cattle ranchers can improve their indicators, have more profitability, and contribute to further strengthen Nelore and Brazilian livestock. Everyone wins in this process: the producer, the industry, the end consumer and the country.”
